Fetsund timber booms

Fetsund timber booms is a national heritage site just 30 minutes from Oslo. Experience logg-driving history in authentic surroundings and a beautiful natural setting. Take a walk on the water on more than 1 km of floating paths.

Fetsund lenser is a protected cultural heritage site and, as far as we know, the only preserved one of its kind and size in the world. In addition to 25 buildings, there are 12 steel boats at the 2.5 km-long facility in the Glomma river.

Exhibitions both indoors and outdoors depict how the river was filled with logs back in the day, and it is a great experience to walk on the gangways in the facility. It is possible to “walk on water” from the log-floating museum to the Visitor Center for the North Øyeren Wetland, which features child-friendly exhibits, including large freshwater aquariums and stuffed birds. There are also cafes and a museum shop.
